When researching astrological signs, we discovered that the date range provided for a given sign often varied by source. For example, when comparing the traditional and modern Western zodiacs, this discrepancy could be as much as several weeks (with the addition of a thirteenth sign thrown into the mix), which is why we split out the two, to give users the best of both worlds.
Even between contemporaneous zodiacs, however, there are sometimes differences of one or two days. Some of this is apparently down to annual variation and some may be down to tradition. If you are on the cusp of two signs, which one is truly yours may depend on what astrological philosophy you follow.
